Attorney Rita D. Abro is a seasoned tax attorney providing high-level tax counsel to law firms, businesses, and corporate clients nationwide. With nearly two decades of experience, Rita serves as outside tax counsel to law firms on complex transactional, compliance, and tax controversy matters. Her practice includes advising on mergers and acquisitions, Section 1031 like-kind exchanges, REIT structures, partnership and corporate taxation, and international tax issues. She regularly assists clients with IRS negotiations, voluntary disclosures, and transfer pricing matters involving multinational affiliates. Prior to Gonzalo Law, Rita held key roles at several prominent law firms, including Seyfarth Shaw LLP, Thompson Coburn LLP, Baker & McKenzie LLP, and Latham & Watkins LLP. Rita earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan Law School and her Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Michigan.
